Working Voices is a global communication and presentation skills consultancy

Paul Hill

Paul is a senior member of our Business Writing Team. He coaches the subject across the length and breadth of the UK, and across the whole of Europe. Group courses and workshops in i) Effective Business Writing ii) Effective Report Writing iii) Writing Effective Emails iv) Slide-deck Skills and v) stand-alone 1:1 Writing-Skills coaching are a big part of his average working week.

With a degree in English from St John’s College, Cambridge, Paul is a natural coach in this subject but that degree is but one of his qualifications.

After University he went on to train at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art as a prelude to working as an actor – mainly in the theatre – for ten years.

But there’s more. He has an MA in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama, where his work centred on training non-actors to speak in challenging environments: Speaker’s Corner, Hyde Park being a typical location. A presenter’s job does not get more difficult than that one!

No surprise, therefore, that Paul is prominent in four other of our training teams, namely Presentation Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Media Training and Voice Coaching. Equally unsurprisingly, the last of these is a particular specialism where his talents are recognised not only by the world of commerce that makes up the bulk of our Clientele (and where most of Paul’s work is concerned with assisting non-native English speakers) but also by the world of theatre (including the Royal Shakespeare Company). Paul has a track record for improving vocal clarity and impact dramatically.

With his individual, energetic and enthusiastic style Paul is the first-choice coach for the largest of our Clients and has a constantly full diary. He never disappoints.
